He multiplies

So much hunger
heartache
requests for prayer
flood and fill
all empty space
a beast, ravenous
crying, demanding
to be satisfied.

Small as I am
I face drowning
awash
in all that pain.

So I do the one thing
I can
I lift my hands
my prayers
tiny fish, broken loaves
an offering of thanks
to the One
Who can answer
in multiplied blessings.

He fed the 5000 -- and then there were all those leftovers, a representation, I think, of the blessings that overflow on top of us. Good poem.
