Imperfect Prose - Saving Pink

Truth indeed is black and white
yet my heart beats in shades of gray
I steel myself against the chill
wanting to savour
what must
by its nature
slip through my fingers

I cut flowers
from the frosted earth
and in preserving pink
rejoice in His saving grace

The old life is a grass life, its beauty as short-lived as wildflowers; Grass dries up, flowers droop, God's Word goes on and on forever. This is the Word that conceived the new life in you.

Stop by Emily's In the Hush of the Moon for more perfect imperfection.

so often we want to hold tight what we better let go - and enjoy the moment - thanks for reminding with your beautiful words

Lovely photo and words. Sometimes I think I steel myself against future chill, and forget to savor the grace of the moment.

Saving pink... a truly noble cause! But then I wonder how long can you keep it going for... this leads to so many interesting metaphors!
