slip like a shadow from room
to room
wander outside
pet the dog, call the cats
check remaining life
in the flower beds
anything
but confronting the empty
page
blank screen
white space.
I do not know
can not imagine
how to begin
or where I am going.
Distraction
pokes, prods, pinches
whispers, wiggles, welcomes me
to anything but words.
Then I remember
Distraction
pokes, prods, pinches
whispers, wiggles, welcomes me
to anything but words.
Then I remember
I have but one muse
the Author
of my life
my faith
the Author
of my life
my faith
the ultimate
creative voice.
He charts my course
but supplies me
no road map
His request simple
"Trust Me."
So not certain
if waters are shallow, deep
frigid or warm
I dive in, begin
one word
for One
and always
faithful
He multiplies.

Karin, you are such an inspiration to me.
how beautiful you describe the way from restlessness to diving into trust...also love the last line...and always faithful he multiplies..
so true!
I love this! I'm often that way... I avoid the blank screen.
THanks for the encouragement!
I like this very much - and your conclusion, well, my best writing has always come from just diving in...
Beautiful words, beautiful message. Your faith is inspiring (and I like your dog, Faith, too!). I'm very happy to have found your blogs. Blessings back at you.

Excellent sense of movement through the lines that captures a restlessness amid distraction. Nice One Shot!
i find faith to be a great mix of excitement and anxiousness....and a whole lot of trust...wonderful one shot!
The only time I can write poetry is when I am good and depressed. LOL. When I am happy, can't get a single line out for poetry.
