Ripe Fruit

If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you. When you bear (produce) much fruit, My Father is honored and glorified, and you show and prove yourselves to be true followers of Mine.

Raspberries clinging to branches
rich, filled with juices.
Plucked too early
they are void of sweetness.
Left too long
they wither or rot.
Each one reaches true ripeness
in God's perfect time.
As for me
I am still growing
as I learn to abide
in the heart of Christ.
He helps me to surrender
to the pain of the shears
I am here to bear fruit
for our Father's glory.
Not for me
this sweetness.
Not for me
the ripe juices.
But that other might taste
and see
that the Lord is so good!
