focus blurs

focus blurs, there is
a softening
ice crystals suspended
mid-air, perhaps
a weariness of the eyes

thoughts of wandering
cease, this is
a time for home, hearts
settling deep in
unexpected surrender

hanging out at the pub for the last time until the new year

Yes, I agree. This is the time when we kind of settle in deep, surrender to the season, and enjoy it. Actually it is only way to survive winter for me. Smiles.

We settle like snow, hunker down. Nice capture of this feeling.

Beautifully captured. I've never experienced winters such as these, so very mild here but it does sound so appealing.

You've captured that weather that's perfect for comfort food and snuggling under a blanket with a good book. :-)
