surrendering alone

I was single for the first 43 years of my life
I did things my own way
in my own time
no need to consult someone else
toss, tussle and compromise

then I met my Lord
and He led me to my beloved husband
and I began the process of surrendering alone
to learn what it meant to live together

with God's love and grace
we melded into the one
that means husband and wife
together

as a couple
we do things our own way
in our own time
no need to consult anyone else
toss, tussle and compromise

until now....

we have to surrender our alone
for a new way of living together with others
we couldn't be more excited
or terrified
surrendered into His hands and plans

please take a moment to read the big news

Day 25 of 31 Days of Surrender

Five Minute Friday linking with Lisa-Jo talking about together

Enjoy the vision, the journey, the husband, the move, and the Lord - in whatever order makes sense at a given moment. :)

Hi, Firefly! I'm your FMF neighbor this week, Tina, from Rainbows & Mustard Seeds. Wow! Your post expresses a beautiful journey from aloneness to togetherness into togetherness in service, and I believe you will give and receive great blessings as you answer His call.

Your big news is a beautiful challenge to all of us to listen for and respond to His call on our lives, whatever it may be.

May God continue to bless you and your husband and others through you.

Yes, having to adapt to someone else being an integral of your life after so many years is not easy! But having the love of our Pappa God poured out into your hearts will certainly allow you to overcome anything. What a joy to now have your life enriched by your God and your husband. I am so grateful for you and praise our Pappa for His goodness towards us.
Blessings XX

Love this! Excited for you (and a little scared, too). I also love this picture - I don't think I've ever seen a face on picture of you, only that one that's angled from above. Nice to meet you, Karin!
