in the still of the night

In the still of the night
As I gaze from my window
At the moon in its flight
My thoughts all stray to you
Cole Porter

This song may have been written to a lover
but I pray it to the lover of my soul
my God and my King

To a sweet heart - to the Father - how beautiful is that thought. Now my husband is with me, not over an hour away (when we dated over summer break in college) and I would look at the moon and wonder about where He was - wishing we were together. Now we are - 30 years - and so now when I look at the moon, I think about God - and wonder about Him trying to bring Him closer:)Thank you for sharing that quote - I like where it is taking my thoughts:)

I have often thought that so many of the so-called secular songs do a much better job of describing love than many church music!

Such a peaceful picture and words to go along. I agree with Mia, often music describes our souls and their relationship with God

As usual, you have a great photo and manner to remind us that He is the Lover of our soul..

Thanks, Karin.

Often, I too sing songs meant for the world's pleasure that only seem worthy to be sung to our Lord. Such as "Have I told you lately, that I love you? Well, Jesus I'm telling you now." So this morning I join in praise with you singing Cole's song to the Lord!
