warm side of the glass

on the warm side
of the glass I am
holding fast against
the wind
symphony of knocks
whistles, cries
leaves dance mid air
as branches crack
splinter on the narrow road
covered far too soon
with snow

hanging out with the poets today

Hi, surprised I'm the first to comment on this 'the warm side of the glass is a lovely and poetic idea and liked you simple ending of the snowcoming too soon - nice, tender and pleasing work. thanks for sharing... With Best Wishes Scott www.scotthastie.com

I am always thankful in November to be on the warm side of the glass. Your poem expresses this so well.

I def like being on the warm side of the glass. I'd rather observe and listen rather than be in the midst of the coldness of autumn.

Oh so nice to be on the warm side of the glass! But it is beautiful to look out on snow, to me at least. Lovely capture of the season =)

the early snow, shown with an acceptance I couldn't muster :-)
So well written, so much said in a handful of words.
Manitoba: I shall have to look that up on the map now.

Your beautiful words capture the whole sense of being still and watching, listening...

How vividly you describe the first snow of winter. Well done.

Oh my. Loved the way this warmed me inside, even though the cold side is there
