Rejoice - Women of Faith Worship CD

Rejoice is the latest CD by the Women of Faith Worship Team. This studio recording attempts to, according to the publisher:

capture the unbridled joy, awestruck adoration, and reverent worship audiences experience over the course of a two-day Women of Faith event

they go on to say:

There’s a sound for every situation; a song for every emotion. This is not just worship for women - it’s music for anyone and everyone who is ready to rejoice over the incomparable love God has for us.

I think I expected to be able to step into a “live worship” experience and was disappointed by the studio quality. Though these are songs of worship the recording has the flavour of performance more than praise. At first listening I also missed the sound of deeper male voices.

I have, however, been listening to this recording every day during my morning quiet times and it has grown on me. Currently, my favourite track is #3, Forever Reign written by Jason Ingram and Ruben Morgan. I have been moved by both the lyrics and the harmony of voices:

Oh, I'm running to your arms,
I'm running to arms
The riches of your love
Will always be enough
Nothing compares to Your embrace
Light of the world forever reign

I’m glad that I gave this CD more than one listening. I may have at first been disappointed that it wasn’t what I expected, but in fact it is proving to be more.
