Break out

Days wrapped in snow
roads impassable
cradled in the arms
of the One and the one
who love me
content in stillness
silence waiting.

An itch grew
ever more insistent
to break
out
in clear spaces
breath, motion
thin air
even the company
of strangers.

A giddy sense of freedom
came with my break
from captivity
overwhelming
laughter, joy, release.

Just as on this
the year's darkest
shortest day
the light
when it does shine
is sweeter
than we had imagined.

As I spent time with the Lord journaling this morning, He reminded me that even on the darkest day, He Is and ever shall Be our light.

Amen..."even on the darkest day, He Is and ever shall Be our light."

Bless you!
