Rain has dampened the edges of the day.
Nothing violent or dramatic
but a persistant drip, drip, drip.
I almost wanted to call for a downpour
and then be done with it.
Drip, drip, drip.
Rick worked about the yard
until the chill soaked in
trimming branches, shrubs
down to the ground
to encourage new
better growth next year.
Like the Father
seeking fruit.
Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. John 15:2 NKJV
Wet leaves
share their colours
the scent of decay tempered
by the hope of His promises.

I so love the 'firefly' element of who you are. I grew up in Indiana and the most favorite memory I have from up there is the fireflies, particularly in the fall as they danced over the golden wheat in the field next to our home.
I am not much in the poetry realm but enjoy it when someone else puts it together. Be Blessed.
This is beautiful.
I like the simplicity and peace here.
"dampened the edges of the day"
my favorite part :)
Beautiful poetry here.. :)
