slice in the night

the other night, these words came
waking me
again and again

slicing watermelon
to find sugary
goodness
runs like water
to refresh

leave the knife
in My hand
allow Me liberty
to work as
I will
and trust Me
a touch of salt
to the flesh
makes the juice
flow sweeter

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Hebrews 4:12 NLT

Messages from God can be found everywhere...if only one opens one's eyes and heart.

The salt really is what is needed.. that's a great metaphor.. and this came to you in your sleep

Love this, the power of truth to change a heart, salt on the flesh to bring new life. This is powerful and excellently done

Beautiful. A poem to make one think. Nicely done.

Provocative words made more meaningful by the fact that they came to you in the night.

At night is often the best time to receive messages as there aren't many distractions. I think I'd enjoy
a slice of watermelon now..smiling..

Watermelon can be very pleasant and most welcome, especially during hot summers. I enjoyed your metaphor.

So very beautiful. I love the parallel between the useful knife and the sweetness of the watermelon!
