in their shoes

not my words today, but His as I opened my journal to listen--

walk in their shoes
or lack of
right now
to gain empathy
to hear
My heart

be open to learn
be open to feel

accepting emptiness
gives me space
to fill
that is where
the joy goes

the pub is open again, I'm hanging out with the poets

I like the philosophy here. If we have NO emptiness, there is no room for anything to be filled. Therefore, we should embrace emptiness rather than despise it!

yes to be there allows us to really feel the need....

This is beautiful. Walk a mile in someone's shoes...my grandmother used to say that. Thank you for sharing the message you were given.

This is beautiful. I like the idea of staying empty in order to allow for joy.

I think one has to truly walk in their shoes to understand their
journey...opening the heart..

The emptiness is needed to fill with emotions... like a cup you cannot fill if it's full...

empathy is perhaps the best way to address emptiness, yes?

YeS! i think we have to open to the fuller pain that can be life..to truly love and have empathy for those less fortunate than us...

Yet too..2 feel everything possible of our loved ones closer to home..2

A closed heart..is a true dagger of life...

An open one..even exposed to daggers..is a greater way to live..as far as i see...

and..Happy !2014! to ya..2!
