Heading home

On the road
leaving what once was home
moving toward the home God chose for me
some ten years back.

Just a glimpse
of the shining waters of Lake Superior
as the sun settles down for another day.

Closing my eyes
to see
not what surrounds me
but Who lives within me
I find my center
my peace
not yet home
but home.

Hey, there. Just dropping by to see how things are going. Love this poem, and totally get it. I'm heading "home" this weekend. It's a strange sort of belonging to two places at once, isn't it? And then there's the REAL home. The one we wait for.

Blessings tonight.

Did you see the cross in your picture? You are home wherever you are. Because of Him.

This was such a great reminder for me. My life continues very unstable, but that's ok because home is somewhere between my heart and God and that never moves.

by the way, I think your Imperfect Prose link is wrong...

following the call to where ever he sends you can be quite exhilarating...as well as a bit fearful...

This is not our home. You are so right.
