I like the part of the verse that says He has "tenderly nursed". When the ups and downs of life have whipped and scarred us, our God tenderly restores us.
I love the image of the windy road along with the part of the verse, "He has tenderly nursed his beaten-up, beaten-down people."
I can just envision someone trudging along the long road with a pack that feels to weigh just a bit too much for him/her, and God is working little by little to lesson the load.
