numb

media rush
news floods fresh
streaming video
words, images
instant graphics
and prayer requests
how many wounded?
fatalties?
children lost
or broken?
I care
or want to care
but I am muffled
a numbness
settling around me
not ice, not fire
no, instead the absence of
like sleep, thick and heavy
here, it is safe

yet I fear the waking

its overwelming really..hard to process and think about all the devastation ...and selfishly we are thankful it was not us...and humbly we pray for those it was...

Indeed there is a numbness...so sad with so many dead, so many who lost everything. This poem is heartfelt.

Wish to not feel it, but feel it so very deep, how to numb it...

We have to feel as that is what gives us our purpose and our light...

it's good to cry with them who cry and pray for them..not much more than we can do at the moment...was shocked when i saw it in the news yesterday
