Soaking

the rains have come
hard, continuous
what this land has long
needed, nourishing
and reviving

weary souls
tilt faces up
to drink
echoing sweet hallelujahs

I will give you rain in due season,
and the land shall yield her increase
and the trees of the field yield their fruit.

One Word Carnival - Laughter

I was having a bit of brain freeze thinking about this week's word "laughter" so I did what I have learned to do when I feel stuck. When journaling this morning, I asked the Lord what He would like to share.

Not just giggles that scratch the surface; more than mere chuckles; but deep, soul restoring laughter; like living water flowing from your very core - this comes from fullness of joy - joy in Me.

Come let Me open the joy gate. Step into Me where mere happiness grows thin and pale. For here, in Me, even in pain, even in mourning, joy will find you.

And your lips curl upward at the corners.
And your mouth opens.
And the sound comes
a tremble that builds upon itself
and becomes a roar.

Waves crashing upon the shores of sorrow.
Waterfalls of rain pouring hard upon your thirsty soul.

Step into Me for a drenching.

Be refreshed in My peace

More than ready to worship

Tomorrow morning Rick and I will have the chance to gather with others at the church I used to attend when a brand new Christian, before I moved to Canada.

I am ready, so much more than ready to be among fellow believers. I ache to be with the body of Christ after much time of feeling like an alien within my family.

I thank the Lord that He has given me the hope of heaven. A hope that strengthens and sustains me. A hope that others in my family cannot comprehend.

In the morning I will lift my hands and sing His praises. I will meet with Him in worship. As I bless His name I will be refreshed and restored.

Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever. Psalm 106:1 NIV

Praying for Canada

On September 18th a documentary about our nation's identity and destiny will be shown in churches from coast to coast, followed by a time of prayer for Canada.

I am privledged to be able to organize this event at our church for our region of Manitoba.

Here's a peek at the trailer:

“From the River to the Ends of the Earth” – The Destiny of the Nation of Canada was produced by Acts News Network, Inc. who say:

From the River to the Ends of the Earth examines a unique perspective of Canada’s national identity and calling. Couched in breathtaking visuals of Canadian rivers and landscapes, this 52-minute documentary explores trends that suggest Canada is moving swiftly towards an unprecedented spiritual revival. Such an event could profoundly impact the nation not only spiritually but also socially and economically.

From the River to the Ends of the Earth features First Nations and Inuit spiritual leaders who affirm, through dreams and visions, their belief that the entire nation of
Canada is on the verge of a powerful awakening.

“At every single level of life in Canada, this place will resonate with a destiny and a purpose and a clarion call that will be sent out to all the nations of the world,” states Rev. Dr. Alistair Petrie, one who has studied precursors to spiritual revivals.

From the River to the Ends of the Earth also steps back in time to explore the historical foundations of a spiritual link to Canada’s national identity and calling.

According to director/producer Marney Blom, the intention of the three-year Acts News Network project is to provoke and inspire. “Most people have little comprehension of the nature and magnitude of this nation’s destiny.” The film draws its title from the text etched in stone on Canada’s Parliament building;

“He shall have dominion from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth.” (Psalm 72:8)

From the River to the Ends of the Earth brings to life a compelling vision of a nation’s destiny.

Global Day of Prayer 2009

10 days of united and focused prayer concluded Sunday evening with our Global Day of Prayer gathering. The Spirit of the Lord was moving in our worship, and in our prayers and declarations. This year I was able to find people to read parts of the "Prayer For The World" in different languages. We began with Afrikaans, to honour the nation of South Africa where the vision was birthed.

I knew that God was at work when unexpectedly an Aboriginal Pastor, his wife and friends joined us. We were blessed to have him pray in Ojibway and release a word about revival over our area.

"I feel the Holy Ghost is in this house. I want you to know, saints of God, the Spirit of Revival is hovering over Dauphin. And each church is going to receive a special visitation by the Spirit of God and everyone's needs are going to be met. The spiritual needs."

With a part of the prayer also being read in French, we had all 3 languages of Canada declared into the heavens!

Prayers were also read in a Nigerian dialect and in Norwegian. A Korean minster was in attendance with a group from another church in our region, and though he did not speak from the pulpit, Asia was also represented through his prayers.

On two occassions we broke off into small groups to spend time in repentence and to pray for the lost. These moments of prayer were intense and powerful, and I wished I didn't need to break them up and call us all back together.

Lord, we love You. Lord, we adore You. Lord, continue to break our hearts over the dis-unity in the Church and lead us along the paths You desire, roads that bring us closer to You and to each other, that we might truly be the Body of Christ, the bride You will return for,

"The one who is testifying to these things says, "Yes, I am coming soon!" Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!" Revelation 22:20

Missing In Action

Greetings. Hello. Hi there. Remember me?

It's hard for me to be away from reading and writing in blog land. It seems I have had very few free moments. We have revival meetings going on in town for a few weeks and I have wanted to take in as much as possible.

So between work, studying, and being in church I've had little chance to be here.

I'm sure that all that I am soaking in and absorbing right now will spill out on these pages in the days ahead.

Until then, keep me in your prayers as you remain in mine.
