I believe strong and healthy marriages are God's plan and desire. I am also wise enough to know that there are many forces working against that goal. I am always interested in stories of those who have fought to create and sustain their marriages so I was thrilled to be asked to read and review Beyond Ordinary by Justin and Tricia Davis.
In the publisher's website product details of this new book I read:
The biggest threat to any marriage isn’t infidelity or miscommunication. The greatest enemy is ordinary. The authors share how they had begun to settle for ordinary and the damage that ensued. I wonder how many of us run from the hard times instead of stepping fully into them and fighting for the dreams God has planted in our hearts and spirits, dreams for true intimacy, to know and be fully known. We give up when we stop feeling like we are on the mountain tops, but as Justin and Tricia teach us:
it is often in the valleys that God meets us and sets us up for extraordinaryDo you desire to live a covenant marriage instead of simply fulfilling a contract? Do you want to walk in forgiveness and acceptance? Don't miss this chance to learn from the road these two lovers trod. Read this with your spouse, praying as you work your way from ordinary to the marriage God knows you can experience.
