Quilted words

My hands and thoughts have no patience for crafts
no knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking done here
no sewing, embroidery, needlepoint, ceramics
I do not quilt
though I am fascinated by the piecing of scraps
building colour upon colour
Is it the same as when I take simple ingredients to cook
creating something greater than the individual parts

And yet...
perhaps I do quilt, in my way
stiching together words
building colour upon colour
creating stories greater than each individual word
something to climb inside
find comfort, warmth, joy.

We should use the tools He provides
each a gift not received lightly

How do you quilt?

You certainly do quilt with words. I'm not familiar with your food ;-)
I tend to do a little knitting, a little crochet, a little of this and that. Your gift is powerful. Thank you for sharing it.

Although I could - if I would, I do not care to do crafts, art, quilt, embroidery and sew. And like you there is beauty that I enjoy by observing. When it comes to serving the Lord, we each have a different method to contribute and that woven all together makes a quilt that the Lord enjoys !!

"Quilting with words" I love that.

I don't have the patience for skills like quilting either.
