My Valentine
Today I sing praise to my God and King
He orchestrated a love beyond any I could imagine.
He knew what I needed and in His faithfullness brought Rick into my life.
I thought I'd want a valentine who would write for me
fancy poetry and prose
instead I have Rick who never fails to say he loves me
plain and simple and true
every day
I thought I'd want a valentine who would buy me flowers
instead I have Rick
who plants me a garden full
I thought I'd want a valentine for a season
instead I have Rick
for a lifetime
He is solid and loyal and strong in the Lord, the place my heart has found its home.
He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love [for love waved as a protecting and comforting banner over my head when I was near him].
Song of Solomon 2:4 Amplified

Awwww...this is so sweet! What a precious tribute! Loved it!
So beautiful friend. I pray my heart will always find its home with my dear one.
That's the best kind of valentine there is - true, real, lasting, solid. Beautifully put. Happy Valentine's to you both!
Isn't it amazing how God knows better what we truly need than we do?! My husband is the perfect God-given match for me and there are so many things that I now can't imagine living without that I never would have thought of before.
That's beautiful....Happy Valentines Day to you and your sweetie!
He brought you the best ...
How wonderful!!
Happy Valentine's Day to you.
beautiful...just beautiful!
Karen ~ what a lovely, thoughtful tribute to your valentine. So many couples give up before the real value of their love unfolds. It takes time together to be able to write a poem like that. And most don't ponder the deep places of their relationship, but only focus on what the other can do for them.
God knew the value of a lifelong love and designed it that way on purpose...the lessons and the learning and the painful growth it would take to step one day into the deep contentment of truly loving and being loved by another.
I enjoy your blog. Blessings on your travels!
