Cleansing Wind

The temperatures here in our little part of the North are finally rising. I replaced the down comforter on our bed with a summer quilt. I moved about the house opening windows that have been shut since last autumn, allowing the wind to stir up the stagnant air that has filled these rooms.

In the same way, my prayer today is that God, by His Holy Spirit will blow gently through our lives, clearing away the dust and cobwebs that have collected over the last little while. May He sift through all of our scattered thoughts and blow away that which is no longer needed. May He remove all of the staleness and release His sweet fragrance, that we would be pleasing unto Him and bring glory to His Name.

"Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his precious fruits." Song of Solomon 4:16

Refresh us, oh Lord, as You prepare us for the days ahead.

Yes, refresh us, oh Lord! I love this analogy, Karin. This exactly what I need the Lord to do for me right now...just sweep away all the clutter, throw open the windows of my soul, and let in a fresh wind.

I'm really looking forward to a little break that came my way unexpectedly. Thank You, Jesus! It will provide a physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual refreshing. Can't wait!

God bless you!

Lovely analogy! The fresh spring breeze blowing through open windows is so refreshing, just as when the Lord breezes into our hearts and lives and refreshes us. I believe that I will have a different perspective each day when I open my windows.

Blessings,
Dianne :D
