I am His

My heart beat heavy and stiff this morning
I left an online message for a friend
Once again I ask for prayers that the feeling of being left out of the loop would flee. I know nothing in this world is about "me" anyway.  At times I feel connected and that I actually belong with the group of writers and poets that gather here in cyber space - and then God reminds me that I belong only to Him.
I did not know the word for today is belong
but I'm certain that He did!

He has called to me
in the night seasons
in the brightness of day
on the breath defying heights
and in the valleys of despair

until I cry out my desperation

and He answers
Here Am I

when I strive to belong
to anything or anyone else
I lose sight of Him
and cannot find solid ground

and yes, perhaps He allows the loss of balance
the teetering
knowing I will fall
into His arms

Five Minute Friday linking up at Lisa-Jo's where the word today is belong

Hi There! I really admire your faith, and of course your creativity! I think the best work comes when we speak from our heart, but it gives it a little extra something when your heart is working through Him. Have a great Friday and thanks for sharing!

So there you are, Firefly! So glad to see this. I am not solely dedicated to proclaiming my faith as you are - ironic, since I am a faithful member of the UCC and married to a pastor! But I've had a strange life...!

Not only could I see you falling into the arms of God, I could also hear you, when asked, "Send ME."

Lovely writing and lovelier conviction. Amy

Thanks for sharing that. I think all too easily we get caught up in belonging in society--and in the blogging world--and we forget that we belong to Him. And as long as we belong to Him, He can use us. His arms are always open.

What a wonderful description of how taking our eyes off of Him and His plan will just cause us to slip and fall. Thanks for sharing! Visiting from FMF.

Yes, this. If we could only remember that we we're all connected, but that we belong only to God. And that trying to fit in with any one person or group over Him is unfitting. That when we take our eyes off Him, we sink.

I loved this. The meaning of belong--the emphasis we put on belonging. And the only call we have is to belong to Him.
Such beauty in this words. I love the way it flows and what you have said.
Grateful for your tweets, too.
Blessings,
Janis
