Creativity Boot Camp -Smooth

The word prompt was smooth. Click on image to enlarge.

Note: The words I have used in the work above are not scripture or paraphrase - but inspired by my heart's understanding of the passage.

A voice of one who cries: Prepare in the wilderness the way of the Lord [clear away the obstacles]; make straight and smooth in the desert a highway for our God! Every valley shall be lifted and filled up, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the crooked and uneven shall be made straight and level, and the rough places a plain. And the glory (majesty and splendor) of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it. Isaiah 40:3-4 Amplified

Creativity Boot Camp - Heavy Metal

The word prompt Heavy Metal led me to ponder the full armor of God. Click on picture to enlarge.

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:14-17

Creativity Boot Camp - Lesson 1

I am a couple of days late beginning the work for Creativity Boot Camp having just arrived home last night, but I am diving in and will catch up as I can.

I have been praying about what medium to create in, knowing that words come easier to me than other more "graphic" arts. I have decided that I will combine both my love for words and my new found interest in capturing digital images in a way that conveys truths of the Kingdom of God. For a long time I have been matching pictures with scriptures.. but now I will use the poetry and prose that the Spirit provides.

The prompt for Day 1 was Ivory. Click to enlarge photo.

Creativity Boot Camp

boot camp

I'm taking a leap and committing to particpate in Maegen's Creativity Boot Camp from June 6 through June 18th.

Maegen writes:

I have designed this e-course for people who wish to take the next step in their creative lives. Whether you need a creative boost, need the motivation to begin that large creative project, or simply wish to lead a more creative life, the exercises provided in this course will help to pave the way for maximum creativity in your life.

If Maegen is anything like the kind of personal trainer I used to be I expect to get my sluggish backside royally kicked into action. May what pours out as a result honour and glorify my Lord, the Master of creation.
