psalm 14

here again I am

not on my knees

this flesh too ripe for bruising

I ask your pardon if my position

appears rebellious, lacking piety

or poise, my spirit is bowed low

the part of me that cannot be seen

but You see, and You know

and I need not give a moment away

to fear of man’s disapproval 

here again am I

heart surrendered, not for show

for real

Here’s what I want you to do: 
Find a quiet, secluded place 
so you won’t be tempted to role-play before God. 
Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. 
The focus will shift from you to God, 
and you will begin to sense his grace.
