not some, all

Boxing Day 1999 
I was baptized 
in a church in Lloydminster, Alberta
only a few short months after meeting Jesus
the congregation was singing the hymn I Surrender All
as I broke the surface of the water
dying to old 
rising to new
surrender has been a quest
my desire
an ache in my bones
a fire that burns hot
not some of me
all of me
for all of Him

He must increase, but I must decrease. 

This is the assigned moment for him to move into the center,
while I slip off to the sidelines.

    that John 3:30 passage from the Message is amazing. John the Baptist -- who was getting plenty of attention, "This is the assigned moment for him to move into the center,while I slip off to the sidelines."
