and whispers
sung in harmony
or discord.
Oratory eloquent
or lacking
a single word
no sound, breathless.
Anchored fast
yet still adrift
feather touches
of a wind
untamable.
From the day's
first light
until eyes shut
for sleep
from heartbeat
to heartbeat
all is prayer.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Karin. Prayer is like an ongoing conversation, "heartbeat to heartbeat," punctuated by those whispers and shouts.
ReplyDeleteWhen we slow down enough to hear the thump, thump, no audible word needs awakening. Breath alone can exchange our relationship to God...and yet the verse of longing posted at the end is needful.
