the other night, these words came
waking me
again and again
slicing watermelon
to find sugary
goodness
runs like water
to refresh
leave the knife
in My hand
allow Me liberty
to work as
I will
and trust Me
a touch of salt
to the flesh
makes the juice
flow sweeter
hanging out at the bar with the poets

wow - you make my mouth watery... and what a cool connection to god's word as well
ReplyDeletea touch of salt in the flesh does make the juices flow in watermelon and....smiles...

ReplyDeleteProvocative words made more meaningful by the fact that they came to you in the night.

ReplyDeleteAt night is often the best time to receive messages as there aren't many distractions. I think I'd enjoy
ReplyDeletea slice of watermelon now..smiling..
Watermelon can be very pleasant and most welcome, especially during hot summers. I enjoyed your metaphor.
ReplyDeleteThe best often comes in sleep... This is wonderful! ~jackie~
