Street Life - just a normal day

I am the product of an urban/suburban upbringing. The dirt and rush, noise and crush of Chicago streets remains a part of me even as I have escaped into a much simpler, rural, country life.

Nothing in my past, however, prepared me for the street life that was part of a normal day in Kampala, Uganda. We didn't walk the streets, but perhaps would have made more progress if we were on foot as traffic varied from less than a crawl to a dead stand still for more than an hour.

Check out other perspectives on street life and leave a shot of your own.

  1. Interesting picture, a totally different world I bet. By the way,we live outside Los Angeles, and there are times where I've thought I could be walking faster than driving. Enjoy the weekend!

  2. I love it - take me to Uganda.
Every country is so unique down to the smells in the air.
    The children are the best!

Well done and thanks for inspiring me to write about the view from my window

  4. The crush of life in a foreign country where faces are lost in the crowd is captured here for me. Somehow the city streets in a foreign country are different than crowded city-streets in the U.S.

    Your photo says a lot!

    Blessings,

  5. This reminded me of my friend who has been to Uganda and has ridden on the bicycles that are used to get around.

As we travel on the road our Lord has placed before us, it's nice to meet a friend along the way. Thank you for stopping to leave a few or many words, I'm always interested to read your thoughts.
